Compassionate, evidence-based therapy
Children & Adolescents
Child and teen years can come with some sticky issues. Kids sometimes have really really big feelings like fear, anxiety, anger or shame that they don’t know how to express or deal with. Teens often struggle with friendship problems, depression, anxiety, difficult family dynamics, self-esteem or identity. Sometimes parents or caregivers are struggling to understand their child or how to help them. Whatever the concern may be, I’ll meet your child and family where you’re at, help you feel seen and understood, and build the tools needed to be healthy and satisfied. I’ll work both one-on-one and in collaboration with families to achieve the best outcomes.

Adults
Sometimes life gets hard, overwhelming, or frustrating. Sometimes old stuff comes back up and starts interfering with our lives again and our sense of who we are. We do our best to deal with these things, but when our efforts don’t work, we feel stuck and alone. Counseling can be a place to help you gain clarity about your challenges and the path forward, and the gain skills and confidence needed to keep moving forward. Many of the adults I work with are struggling with anxiety, loneliness or depression, insecurity, stress, past trauma, or irritability and anger. I’m here to support and empower you to get unstuck.

I am LGBTQ+ affirming, welcoming, and supporting. I hope to be a safe space for you to be your authentic self.
While I use a variety of evidence-based therapy approaches, my work often draws on the following modalities:
CBT
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
A type of talk therapy that focuses on changing unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking and behaving.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing
A structured therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to facilitate reduction of distressing emotions and symptoms related to past trauma and other negative events/memories.
Client-Centered
A non-directive approach to talk therapy that helps you explore and understand your thoughts, feelings, problems and solutions.
Play
An approach for children that relies on play to help them explore, communicate and learn in therapy.
Play is how children naturally experience and learn about their world. I use both directive and non-directive approaches.
